Melodies Internationalは、ロンドン発のバイナルレコードレーベル兼DJグループで、Seiji Onoが率い、2015年にFloating Pointsによって設立されました。

彼らの任務は、稀で美しく、ソウルフルな音楽を発見し、共有することです。それは、これまでほとんどの人が耳にする機会のなかった音楽であり、その過程の中で紡がれた物語を伝えることでもあります。

2022年から、日本人アーティスト小袋成彬とともに特別なコラボレーションやイベントを通じて、Melodies Internationalの精神を日本に届ける活動も行っています。  今年4月には、MelodiesのSeiji OnoとTheo Terevが3度目の来日予定、レコードを詰めたバッグとともに国境を越え、ダンスフロア文化をさらに盛り上げて行くことでしょう。

Melodies International is a London-based reissue record label founded by Floating Points in 2015 and headed by Seiji Ono. Our mission is to uncover and share very special and relatively undiscovered sounds — music that few ears have been lucky enough to hear before.

Beyond the label, Melodies International is also a celebration of music and dancefloor culture, embodied by our You’re a Melody parties curated and led by resident DJs Seiji Ono, Theo Terev and Mafalda. From London to New York to Tokyo, these events have brought together dancers and DJs to celebrate the deeper shades of modern soul, disco, jazz, boogie, house and much more long after the lights come up. Out of this shared energy came the desire to give these anthems a second life beyond the club, making them more accessible while keeping the spirit of *You’re A Melody* alive.

Since then, we’ve reissued on vinyl everything from Trio Ternura’s *A Gira* to Frankie Knuckles’ mixes of Womack & Womack’s *MPB*, as well as *You’re A Melody* by Aged In Harmony and much more. More recently, we’ve collaborated with Dub legend Mad Professor and launched *Melodies Record Club*, a series of artist-curated 12” reissue compilations featuring selections from Four Tet, Ben UFO, and Hunee — continuing to share beautiful records with new ears and new generations.

Since 2022, we’ve also been working with Japanese artist Nariaki Obukuro, bringing the spirit of Melodies International to Japan through special collaborations and events, performing at Liquid Room, Club Metro, O-East, Fuji Rock, Kieth Flack and more.

French-Japanese DJ, producer, and label manager based in London, Seiji Ono has been running Melodies International since 2018 while holding down a residency at its *You’re A Melody* parties playing alongside Floating Points, Mafalda, Layla, Antal, Sadar Bahar, Red Greg, Four Tet, Charlie Bones and many more.

As a DJ, Seiji’s sets reflect his deep love for soulful music in all its forms—threading the needle between genres while always keeping the dancefloor at the heart of it. Recent projects include composing and producing *Work It Out*, the latest single from boogie legend Leroy Burgess, and working with Japanese artist Nariaki Obukuro, with whom the Melodies crew has been regularly touring Japan for the past three years.

He also hosts a bi-weekly show on Charlie Bones’ *Do!!You!!! Radio* and the *Melodies International* show on NTS, sharing the sounds and stories that make this music so special.

また、チャーリー・ボーンズの「Do!!!You!!!Radio」で隔週番組のホストも務めている！また、チャーリー・ボーンズの「Do!!!You!!!Radio」とNTSの「Melodies International」で隔週番組を担当し、この音楽を特別なものにしているサウンドとストーリーを共有している。

Originally from Paris, Theo Terev has been shaping scenes and moving dancefloors since 2007. As a co-founder of *La Mamie’s*, he played a key role in pushing Paris’ underground music culture forward—helping launch *Macki Music Festival*, curating events at *La Ferme Du Bonheur*, and later expanding into Asia by co-founding *Shi Fu Miz Festival* in Hong Kong.

But at the core of it all, Theo is a DJ first. A dedicated digger with a deep, eclectic taste, he’s spent years touring internationally and playing at clubbing institutions like Corsica Studios, Rex Club, Liquidroom, and Razzmatazz. Since 2019, he’s been a resident at *You’re A Melody*, bringing his unique selections to Melodies International’s dancefloors.

For Theo, DJing is all about connection—reading the room, feeding off the energy, and giving it right back. It’s about sharing moments, making people move, and keeping the dancefloor alive.

パリ出身のTheo Terevは、2007年以来、シーンを形成し、ダンスフロアを動かしてきた。「La Mamie’s」の共同設立者として、パリのアンダーグラウンド・ミュージック・カルチャーを前進させる上で重要な役割を果たし、「Macki Music Festival」の立ち上げや、「La Ferme Du Bonheur」でのイベントのキュレーションを支援し、後に香港で「Shi Fu Miz Festival」を共同設立してアジアに進出した。

しかし、その根底にあるのは、テオはまずDJであるということだ。ディープで多彩なテイストを持つ熱心なディガーである彼は、国際的なツアーに何年も費やし、Corsica Studios、Rex Club、Liquidroom、Razzmatazzといったクラブでプレイしてきた。2019年からは「You’re A Melody」のレジデントとして、Melodies Internationalのダンスフロアに彼のユニークな選曲を届けている。

TheoにとってDJとは、ルームを読み、エネルギーを糧にし、それをそのまま返すという、つながりがすべてだ。瞬間を共有し、人々を動かし、ダンスフロアを生き生きとさせることなのだ。

Dance Music Recordのバイヤーとしてキャリアを積む傍らDJ活動をスタートした後イギリスへ渡英。帰国後イギリスのオンライン・レコー ドストア、Juno Recordsの日本支部を運営。現在Jazzy Sport Kyoto所属&京都拠点のクリエイティヴ・チーム、Kyoto Jazzy Creative Councilのメンバーとしても活動中。

She started her career as a record buyer at  Dance Music Record in Shibuya,then moved to England after started DJing. After returning to Japan, she managed  the Japanese branch of Juno Records. Currently she belongs to Jazzy Sport Kyoto and also a member of the Kyoto Jazzy Creative Council.

18年目を迎える京都を代表するJAZZイベント「DoitJAZZ!」を主宰。ホテル・ラウンジのサウンドサポートも行う等、京都を中心に全国で活躍。Gilles Petersonがスタートしたラジオステーション”Worldwide FM”の 京都サテライト”WW KYOTO”のDJを５年間担当し、海外ラジオへのMIX提供や楽曲制作、また一級建築士としても空間設計を行うなど活動は多岐にわたる。配信番組の制作、野外フェスやホテルでの公演、アートエキシビジョンを手掛ける、「Jazz」と「京都」をフィルターにして活動するクリエイティブ・チーム”Kyoto Jazzy Creative Council（KJCC)”を運営。また日本発のインディペンデントラジオ「Tsubaki fm」京都支部を担当し、シーンの音楽を幅広く発信中。近年ではJazzy Sport KyotoからJazzに特化したMix CD 「POWER JAZZ」、トラックメイカー名義の「Mark N」としてコンピレーションに参加するなどリリースを重ねる。
